As the stars twinkled above,My heart felt a surge of love;
A love that was unexpected and new
That is only known to a few
I’ve watched you from afar,
Swaying my emotions in a war…
Too much, was the battle within,
A battle that I never could win.
As the wind slowly caressed,
My heart felt mesmerized.
From the start, I knew,
Never could I be with you.
Your heart belonged,
And it wasn’t me it longed,
But a girl, you loved
And wished to have.
It pained to know,
And knew that it was low
To succumb into fear
That you’ll never be near.
I tried and willed to let you go,
But it wasn’t that easy of a task to do.
Determined, I knew you were,
To win her heart, so pure.
Along the way, I’d love to help,
But that much pain could make me yelp…
Too much pain, have I bottled,
And too much worries have I cradled.
As I looked up at the twinkling sky,
My heart felt so light and felt like I could fly.
I knew deep in my heart,
That you’ll always be a part.
Obliged I was, to let you go,
And that wasn’t a task easy to do.
You were the one person I truly adored,
The reason behind the emotions I forged.
Like an empty egg, I feel so hollow,
And because of this you might think me shallow.
But beneath it all, I stand tall,
And ready to take the fall…
